Who?

Cubs are the second part of the Scouting family. We are boys and girls aged between 8 and 10½ years old.  Cubs can be easily spotted in their dark green sweatshirt, and like the rest of the group we wear red scarves. Our leaders are Akela (who is in charge), Raksha and Bagheera. The names of our leaders are based on the Jungle Book

When?

The pack meets every Tuesday in term between 6.30pm and 8pm. We also do lots of activities at the weekend and go camping or away at least once a year.

What?

We do loads of things on Tuesday nights from craft to games, cooking to first aid and skills to drama. When we go away we do even more things like abseiling, camping, building fires, pioneering. We have fun, make friends and learn things all at the same time. Like all the other sections in Scouting we work towards challenge badges, which take a bit of time and are very special, eventually these add up to our Chief Scout’s Challenge Award. We also work towards activity badges which are bit quicker and based around one thing.

Want to join?

If you’d like to join (or a parent of somebody who would) then please visit our Join Us page for more information.

If you don’t live around the Clerkenwell, Finsbury or Islington areas you’re still more than welcome to join but there may be an Cub Pack nearer. Visit scouts.org.uk/get-involved to be put in touch with your local groups. There is some flexibility in the age groups so if you’re 7 years and 9 months we can take you, if you’re nearly 10 then Scouts may be better.

Want to help out?

We’re also always on the look out for new leaders and people to help out with the group. If you fancy being a leader or regular volunteer visit the Volunteering page for more details. If you want to help more informally, come along to teach a skill, give us an idea for an evening or anything else then please E-mail us.
